Staci Barr is a textile designer and material artist based in Melbourne. Having grown up surrounded by textiles, art and craft within a creative family, she has always loved creating with her hands.
Having had fun learning about and working with many techniques, Staci has developed a passion for weaving and embroidery, producing highly considered pieces with delicate details. Her collections frequently have strong concepts behind them to make each piece meaningful. Inspired by the delicate textile designs found in haute couture such as Dior and the concepts behind the work of Viktor and Rolf, she loves to play with colour, details and precise techniques while experimenting with weaving and embroidery techniques.
While completing the Bachelor of Textiles (Design) at RMIT, Staci worked with many industry partners to produce collections corresponding to realistic industry briefs. Her designs for these projects gained praise as she was awarded both the winning design in the RASV project and 3rd place for her designs in the RMIT x LINEN HOUSE project.
Staci is continually using her love of learning and strong attention to detail to help her develop new and exploratory designs.
